Nike pays tribute to American carriers with these two Air Force 1 Experimental

While it’s true that over the decades Nike has amassed enough iconic designs to keep its customers happy for a long time to come, its global leadership position also forces it to innovate, come up with new things and surprise. Among the recipes for the current success of the Beaverton firm, we can cite the reinterpretation of classics in the light of collaborations, new materials or radical stylistic evolutions. For the latter option, the Oregon giant has created a special program. Called N.354, it brings together the daring evolutions of classic designs such as the Blazer, the Daybreak or the Air Force 1. Today it is the turn of the creation of Bruce Kilgore to benefit from this program in a new pack, directly inspired by the most famous American carriers. Here we present two Nike Air Force 1 Experimental in the colors of FedEx and UPS.

The upper of the Nike Air Force 1 Experimental respects the silhouette of its eldest, but the materials used propel it very much in our time. The upper is made of visible foam and fully covered in a translucent TPU, veiling the pair right down to the midsole. The latter is marked by the Air Force 1 inscription and we find the mention N.354 on the side Swoosh. The nylon tongue reveals the foam at its top has a zipper, just like the heel. The laces are enhanced by a lacelock and the back is embellished with a label reminiscent of the package labels. The heeltab features a reverse Nike Air logo.

The FedEx-inspired version is built on a gray upper, elevated by pops of orange at the tongue and laces and purple at the lacelock and on the outsole. To reflect the identity of UPS, a second version has a brown upper that contrasts with yellow at the laces and tongue. The midsoles and outsoles are dressed in the same yellow for a two-tone finish true to its inspiration. A third iteration, inspired by the common carrier USPS was abandoned by the brand at the Swoosh following the request of the principal interested party.

These two Nike Air Force 1 Experimental are part of the American equipment manufacturer’s summer collection and you can already find them in our Retro Jordan 2021 online shop.
